A breakthrough in composite membrane recycling technology boosts the development of a circular economy in the industry.
In response to the industry’s persistent challenges in recycling plastic packaging, composite film recycling technologies have made continuous breakthroughs in recent years. A variety of innovative technologies are gradually entering the stage of industrial application, effectively enhancing the level of resource recycling for composite films. Among these advancements, a breakthrough in aluminum-plastic composite packaging recycling technology has boosted the material regeneration rate to 90%. Through processes such as physical separation and chemical treatment, this technology enables highly efficient separation of aluminum foil from the plastic substrate. The separated materials can then be reused to produce packaging materials or other plastic products.
Chemical depolymerization technology has also made positive progress. By using specific chemical reagents to break down the polymer materials in composite films, this technology enables the recycling of raw materials. It is particularly well-suited for the recovery of high-end multilayer composite films. In addition, the application of magnetic-marker sorting technology has increased the efficiency of sorting mixed plastic waste by a factor of five, effectively addressing the challenge of separating composite films from other types of plastic waste and laying a solid foundation for large-scale recycling. At the policy level, the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Plastics Industry" clearly emphasizes promoting plastic recycling and the development of green alternatives. Local governments are providing policy support to enterprises that adopt recycled materials, further accelerating the industrial-scale application of recycling technologies.
Currently, recycled composite film materials have already found applications in industrial packaging, building waterproofing, and other fields. As the technology continues to mature, it is expected to expand into more areas, such as food packaging, in the future. The breakthrough in composite film recycling technology not only reduces environmental pressure but also enhances resource utilization efficiency across the industry, driving the composite film sector toward a circular economy model and providing crucial support for its long-term sustainable development.
